Earlier this year, Bethesda announced that ZeniMax Online's Elder Scrolls Online will shift from the subscription-based plan to a free-to-play one, while also simultaneously giving us the release date for the console version. Those that are excited to make the jump to either the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version from their PC version have the ability to do so for only $20, instead of the suggested retail price of $59.99.
The program started today, April 9th, and will only be available for the next 30 days. When those days are up, the game will go back to its original price of $59.99 — so those who want to enjoy Elder Scroll Online on their console and already own a copy on their PC should act now.
It's important to note that once the game is released and the account gets copied to the console version, you'll still be able to play your PC version if you so choose. However, progress won't carry over from version to version, and will progress separately. Here is the official description from Bethesda:
Continue the adventure on Playstation®4! This service will transfer your account and all your characters to the console. You'll be able to pick up right where you left off on the PC or Mac. Get comfortable, grab your controller, and enjoy more adventures in Tamriel right from your couch. Please note that your characters will only be copied at the time of the transfer. You can continue to play on both your PC/Mac and Playstation®4 accounts, but progress will not be shared between the two platforms.
You can head on over to the Bethesda store and find the promotion after you log in, and if you already own the PC version of the game.
