Expect full-priced games for the Wii U

While the Wii U itself may or may not be in your price range, don't expect any leniency with the price of its games.

Nintendo has confirmed that software titles for the console will cost $59.99 — a "baseline price" that could fluctuate, as "specific games could be more or less," a representative told Polygon.

That might be the average cost of a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 game, but that's $10 more than most Wii titles.

Preorders for Wii U games like New Super Mario Bros. U and ZombiU on Amazon and GameStop reflect the new standard.

The Wii U launches in North America on Nov. 18 and comes in $299.99 and $349.99 editions.
