In the beginning of the year Lionhead Studios revealed their upcoming Xbox One exclusive game, Fable Legends would no longer be exclusive and would be making its way to PC via Windows 10 as well. For Lionhead Studios it meant that the development process of the game would have to change in order for Fable Legends to offer a great PC experience.
This was a no brainer, according to game director on Fable Legends David Eckelberry, "There are more Windows 10s out there than there are Xbox Ones, so we have to have realistic expectations about making the Windows experience great."
Fable Legends will not be limited by its initial Xbox One exclusivity, "If you've got a kickass graphics card, put it up to 4k, have fun—why not?" said Eckleberry to PC Gamer. "We're not trying to make a ghetto PC port out of Fable Legends, we're definitely trying to make a quality experience." The game director went on to reveal that the team working on Fable Legends isn't afraid to push the limits and see what they could do to bring more life to the game. "We push the limits, we don't just say 'this is easy to do now', we say 'oh we have this much more processing power now, let's make the cloth more realistic, let's make more shadow passes, let's make better bounce light…' Stuff like that just makes the world feel more real."
