Facebook game ‘Buzzed. Busted. Broke.’ reminds you to have a safe 4th of July

Happy 4th of July, everybody! Today we celebrate America's Independence Day — fireworks, patriotic music, barbeque and, well, a few drinks.

Not to rain on your parade, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Ad Council are looking to remind people of the cost of driving buzzed over the holiday. And they are looking to do so through a new Facebook game called Buzzed. Busted. Broke.

According to the NHTSA, July 4th is "one of the deadliest times on the roads."

"From 2007 to 2011, 40 percent of all fatalities in motor vehicle traffic crashes around the July 4th holiday involved a drunk driver.  “Buzzed” drivers who have “only a few” drinks often do not consider themselves a hazard on the roads. But they can rack up $10,000 in fines, legal fees and increased insurance rates if they get pulled over. Or, worse, they can produce tragic consequences."

The game provides a "new twist" on the familiar photo match game. The only difference is that the images in this version are related to buzzed driving. I can't say it's the most exciting game, but I support the message they are trying to send.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July, everyone!
