Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliot have just dropped their cover of the Ray Parker Jr. movie anthem for the upcoming release of 'Ghostbusters'.
With the new Ghostbusters movie releasing next month, the question of what kind of mark it will leave on the franchise has been a popular topic of discussion. Until the movie comes out, we won't have too many questions answered, but one mystery was solved when it was announced that Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliot were now responsible for covering the movie's theme song.
You'd be remiss to find anyone who doesn't fall in love with the Ray Parker Jr. theme song everytime they hear it. Its catchy, upbeat, simple, and fun. The newest version, however, lacks the same kind of "spirit" as its predecessor. Now that the latest update to the song is out, one can't help but wonder what kind of decisions were made for the actual movie if the filmmakers thought this is the best fit for the cover. Ultimately, the fans will decide if this is a worthy successor, but from the already palpable backlash flooding in, those chances don't look good.
