In the past Fallout games, there have been a few censorships, but it looks like things have changed this time around. Every country that has gotten their hands on Fallout 4 to rate and classify it for the masses have accepted the game "as-as."
The reveal came through Bethesda's marketing executive Pete Hines' reply to a curious fan on Twitter. The fan questioned whether Fallout 4 had been censored anywhere, to which Hines replied, "So far it hasn't been. Australia and Germany have accepted it "as is.""
Hines mentions Australia and Germany because they have a history of censoring games; Hotline Miami 2 had a hard time with Australia, Mortal Kombat 9 had a hard time there too and Germany outright didn't accept Dead Rising 3.
In case you were wondering what Fallout games were censored, Fallout 3 was censored in Japan for a side quest called "Power of the Atom." The quest had players choosing to defuse or ignore (thus detonating) an atomic bomb named, in the Japanese version it is impossible to detonate the bomb. In the UK and Germany, Fallout 1 and 2 were altered to remove children from gameplay and there was a way to reduce the graphic violence in the Game Options. Of course, modders made it possible for everyone to restore the game to its original state.
