Fallout 4 inadvertently confirmed by cover-up attempt

Guillermo del Toro's production company, Mirada Studios, was reported to be creating Fallout 4's cinematic trailer. While it was only speculation at the time (bolstered by some pretty strong evidence), it looks like efforts to cover up the leak have confirmed the rumor. A freelance 3D artist working at Mirada Studios updated his LinkedIn profile stating that he had worked on a cinematic trailer for Fallout 4 yesterday.

Judging by Mirada's attempts to cover up the entire situation, they (like Konami and the whole Kojima situation) have never heard of the Streisand effect, where an attempt to hide something only makes it more publicly known.

The update has since been removed, but Mirada Studios won't have news outlets reporting on the matter. Mirada Studios requested that Destructoid pull their article on the subject, stating that they had broken a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) by reporting on it.

Truth be told, it's an interesting approach by Mirada Studios  — Destructoid was not the first to report on it. In fact, it was the news site VideoGamer.com and they haven't received a take-down notice from Mirada (as far as we know). Gematsu also received an email to remove the article from their site. On top of that, no one has signed the NDA that Mirada is citing — other than Mirada themselves. Bethesda might be a little upset.

If Mirada is issuing take-down notices for a breach of contract over Fallout 4, we can confirm one thing: Fallout 4 exists.
