Fallout 4 mod attempts to improve PC framerate

A new mod for Fallout 4 has been created in attempt to improve the framerate of the PC version of the game.

The "Fallout 4 Texture Optimization Project," as the mod is being called, attempts to improve the framerate (FPS) of Fallout 4 by slightly sacrificing some of the game's visual fidelity.

"To accomplish this, I have replaced the albeit high-resolution, and some unnecessarily compressed dxt5 textures with dxt1 textures with lower resolution textures retain an acceptable appearance," the mods creator says. You can find a screenshot comparing the game with and without the mod above.

According to the description:

Vanilla textures are HUGE 2048×2048 (2k) ground textures and 1024×1024 plant textures and so on (for example) most people cannot handle this.
Therefore what I have done and am doing is trying to fix that problem and retain the vanilla art style as best I can, while reducing the texture size, and using proper compression on textures that shouldn't be in dxt5 format for the actual graphical return you get!.

Therefore this leads to an INSANE micro-stutter fix or removal! The mod is also a very good fps boost for low-mid grade GPUs and CPUs! also it is the BEST fps boost you can get for the quality retained, without making the game look like complete garbage, which is PERFECT for low-mid grade computers to boost framerates and help remove microstutter. It can even improve Framerate Stability MASSIVELY even on some higher end gfx cards such as gtx700 (and i assume low clock speed 900 series, ~untested~) Graphics cards!
