Fallout 4: New Vegas celebrates original’s 10th Anniversary with new trailer

Mojave calls

We finally got a new trailer for one of the most highly-anticipated mods for Fallout 4. But simply calling it a mod is a disservice to Fallout 4: New Vegas. Check out the new showcase video below!

It has been a long time since we last got a substantial look at Fallout 4: New Vegas in form of a trailer. To be precise, prior videos of the project were very narrow in scope and only depicted small scenes.

But a lot of work has gone into the fan project ever since, and today the modding group behind the total conversion released an awesome little trailer that shows lots of various gameplay moments.

We finally see the shooting, exploration, enemies, and environments in motion. Until now, we had to do with screenshots only and use our imaginations. To be very clear, the total conversion already looks splendid.

The timing of this new trailer is also very fitting. It’s the tenth anniversary of the original Fallout: New Vegas that is still regarded as one if not the best 3D Fallout game by many fans. The thirst for more of what New Vegas offered is abundantly clear, with the new trailer getting a quarter million views in less than a day.

Keeping that in mind, it’s a real shame that Bethesda seemingly has no intentions of creating an official remaster. Frankly, a single celebratory Tweet is all fans got. Thus, it’s up to the devoted community to make one. Fallout 4: New Vegas uses the much more advanced engine and feature set of Fallout 4’s Creation Engine.

This allows the modders to painstakingly recreate the entire New Vegas inside the modern engine. New models, textures, and voice work mean that Fallout 4: New Vegas is basically a brand-new title. A gargantuan task for what is essentially volunteer work.

As expected, there is no release date for total conversion mod, but we sincerely hope it won’t take much longer.
