Since Fallout 4 has released the gaming community has been having a bit of a tiff over the game's performance on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A recent report from Digital Foundry noted that both consoles have a tough time acheiving a rock-solid 30fps reading. Going into further detail, Digital Foundry revealed that the Xbox One suffered from "sizeable stutters on Microsoft's console that aren't present on PS4."
What most people took away from Digital Foundry's analysis of Fallout 4, was that it simply ran better on the PS4 than on the Xbox One.
A technical analysis from NX Gamer has revealed that when reviewing over 17,500 frames, the Xbox One dropped 41 frames, where the PS4 dropped 141 frames and continued to drop every time the player shoots their weapon.
Digital Foundry's analysis showed the Xbox One dropping to 0fps at its lowest, NX Gamer's analysis had the Xbox One dropping to a low of 25fps. That's a drastic difference.
What is significant about the opposing analysis? Well, it shows that there are inconsistencies to be accounted for, but that there is one constant – both games will drop in framerate. With a massive open-world game like Fallout 4, there are a number of variable to take into account. Some players will experience glitches that others will never run into, even on the same platform.
If you have yet to purchase Fallout 4, simply recognize that there will be inconsistencies in performance for both the PS4 and Xbox One version… So be safe and go PC! Just kidding, you'll need a decent rig to get this game looking and running its best. Get Fallout on whatever platform you want.
