Fallout: Miami trailer showcases highly promising mod expansion

The incredibly ambitious Fallout 4 mod Fallout: Miami has a new trailer and it’s a great one. Check out the fan-made expansion of post-nuclear Miami in the new environment showcase trailer here!

Bethesda might have lost a lot of goodwill with their multiplayer spin-off Fallout 76 but that doesn’t mean that fans have abandoned the popular RPG franchise themselves. A talented group of modders have set their eyes on a pretty large goal with Fallout: Miami.

Creating a mod is an inherently difficult task. There’s a reason that most game studios are employing hundreds of workers. It’s just that much work to create a game. For modders the situation is even more difficult since they do the work in their spare time at no compensation except their passion.

Once a popular tourist destination, attracting rich and glamorous visitors both foreign and domestic, Miami now plays host to an eclectic assortment of factions and societies, each with its own culture and approach to the challenges of this new post-nuclear world. The once-great slaver kingdom of Sunshine Cove has recently come under threat by a horde of automobile-worshipping nomads calling themselves the Nuclear Patriots.

Keeping that in mind, the in-game footage across a wide variety of locales in the new Fallout: Miami trailer is nothing short of spectacular. The quality at hand rivals the best output that Bethesda themselves created in the original Fallout 4. That’s not a dig at the studio but a compliment towards the modders.

With a projected size of double that of the Fallout 4 DLC Far Harbor, Fallout: Miami is further poised to become a quintessential experience for every Fallout fan. Sadly, as is with every mod, there is no release date for the Miami expansion.

What we do know however, is that it will be much more than just a level to wander in. An entire main campaign alongside various side quests and new weapons will be included. Topping the entire package are even new characters with voiced dialog.

Despite the console ports of Fallout 4 having limited mod support, Fallout: Miami is intended to come out for PC exclusively at this time.
