With Fallout 4 officially released and mod support coming early next year, the only other thing fans have left to wonder about is downloadable content. Bethesda confirmed a season pass for Fallout 4 back in September, but haven't revealed its contents. And that's largely because they were focused on finishing the base game. Now that Fallout 4 is out in the wild, it sounds like Bethesda is ready to start working on DLC.
"We're doing it," game director Todd Howard said when asked about post-launch plans and DLC during Fallout 4's red carpet event. "We have a bunch coming next year. This game is huge, but it's not just this launch. It's going to be well deep into next year."
Continuing, Howard explained, "It's like the game is done, but it's not done because until everybody plays it, it's not really done."
Howard also assured that the team will continue to monitor player feedback, and even shape future updates and DLC based on what plaeyrs want. "What they bring to it is important, and then we're going to see what people like, what they want more of, what they want different, and then we're going to do that," he said.
"Our fans are amazing. They're super smart. And this is as important to them as it is to us."
Fallout 4 released this week on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and has received glowing reviews. Hopefully the DLC will live up to the expectations set forth by the base game.
