Fan made Pokémon MMORPG in Pre-Alpha

The fan made Pokémon MMORPG has defied odds. It's still alive, kicking and entering an open Pre-Alpha phase.

When I heard this, I knew I had to try it out. Little did I know that my journey would be filled with life, death, the desecration of corpses and of course, twinsies.

Without further ado, this is the tale of my Planet Pokémon experience (before a Cease and Desist hits the game from Trademark/Copyright holders):

My journey began with my finding my twin…His name was Trainer, my name was Milton (you can see our long lost triplet in the back):

The pre-alpha only has one character model available.

My first Pokémon was this Charmander, naming him was not an option. I took control of the Charmander, leaving my trainer body behind. I can only assume my soul swapped from the trainer's body into Charmander's.

Apparently, something had happened to Gengar's Charmander. We mourned the loss.

I attempted my first battle soon after taking control of my Charmander. I chose a Bulbasor as my victim – I though it would be an easy choice considering our Pokémon types…

I was wrong. There is no targeting system, attacking a Pokémon does not initiate a duel – you must chase them down and fire at them, hoping they don't move (which they will 'cause who wants to be attacked). It is not easy to be a Pokémon.

Especially when your corpse is desecrated by a fellow trainer. Yazan, you're a jerk.

My corpse is quite creepy (if you're wondering where my trainer's body is (Milton), I abandoned him (obvy).

Let us mourn the loss of Charmander by staring at him.

Originally I was confused on how to become my trainer again, so I sat there – dead. Eventually, I read the tutorial and recalled my Pokémon's limp body.

Next up, I tried my hand at parkour. My aim was to get on the top of the house with my fellow clones (the idea of twins was dropped soon after discovering far too many twins).

After I made it to the top of the house I became my miraculously resurrected Charmander.

See look how alive I look:

Trainers were spawning all over the place, luckily the supply of Pokémon seems endless.

The Pokémon ball's recall beam goes for the distance:

This is wear I ended my experience in Planet Pokémon. You see that shaded land out there? You cannot go there. What I'm saying is your stuck in this one plot of land and can't even go in the house you climb on.

Everything I expected from a pre-alpha.

Go here, download it and show me your adventures.
