Far Cry 3 ‘High Tides’ DLC coming exclusively to PS3

As most of you know, Far Cry 3 released today for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The highly-anticipated game offers tons of content thanks, in part, to its open-world, sandbox gameplay. In the event you rush through this content, Massive Entertainment has got you covered with just-announced DLC. Here's the catch, it's only going to be available for PlayStation 3.

The new DLC, High Tides, offers all-new co-op gameplay. It adds two entirely new co-op chapters, Jailbreak and Redemption, which take place where the original six left off. New missions, tougher fights, bigger competitions, and "explosive moments unlike anything you've ever seen before" are all included.

"These new chapters feature the culmination of all the hard work we’ve put into the main co-op campaign," said Massive Entertainment writer Meghan Watt. "They’re truly the best of the best."

Far Cry 3 High Tides will release some time in January 2013 for PS3. Although it hasn't been announced, I do expect it will eventually be released for Xbox 360 and PC. It's likely this is a timed-exclusive, but we are following up with Massive Entertainment to find out.
