Far Cry 4 set in the Himalayas? Coming in early 2015?

If Eurogamer's sources are correct, then Ubisoft could be ditching the traditional sandy beach tropical locale for Far Cry 4 in favor of the snow-covered mountain ranges of the Himalayas. Citing "people familiar with the project," the website claims Far Cry 4's new location will allow for some new features, including the ability to ride elephants.

Far Cry 4 isn't expected to release until the firs thalf of 2015, but the title is set to be shown off "in some form" at Ubisoft's E3 press conference in June. It's believed that Far Cry 4 will be released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Last-gen (Xbox 360, PS3) versions of the game are still a possibility, but the sources weren't certain if they were also in the works.

The rumors, while unconfirmed by Ubisoft, were hitned at last month by tipster Superannuation. He, too, suggested the game would be set in the Himalayas and include a large focus on hunting local fauna. Another source claimed that the world's map would be structured similar to Far Cry 3, with outposts for you to liberate.

Far Cry 3 launched in November 2012 and was met with positive reception from fans and critics. It currently boasts a Metascore in the upper-80s/lower-90s. The game was so well-received that it sparked an entertaining retro spin-off, Blood Dragon.
