Far Cry Classic announced for U.S. release

Far Cry Classic, an HD revamp of the very first Far Cry game, is coming to the United States after all. Previously announced for EMEA territories, Ubisoft confirmed today that it'll be available stateside on February 11, 2014 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Priced at $9.99, players will return to where it all began and "relive the game that left a legacy." Far Cry Classic features graphical enhancements, revamped cut-scenes, and a fresh user interface. As for the actual plot…

It’s another beautiful day in paradise…or is it?  Step into the shoes of Jack Carver, a ship captain unwittingly trapped on a remote tropical island and hunted by an unrelenting team of highly trained mercenaries.  Choose firepower, strategy, or stealth, and use your freedom in massive open environments.

Far Cry Classic will be priced at $9.99.
