Fast and Furious franchise gets brand new mobile game

Fast and Furious is one of the biggest film franchises out there, consistently raking in hundreds of millions at the box office and getting critical acclaim. The car franchise which started off as nothing more than a street racing series has evolved into an over the top action series with big-name stars like The Rock and Jason Statham.

Soon, the series will make the jump to your phone via a new mobile game called Fast and Furious Takedown. The game aims to be authentic to the series by giving you over 60 licensed cars to drive including iconic cars from the films, featuring characters from the series, and more.

“Our vision for Fast & Furious Takedown was to create a true-to-property game that leverages our team’s expertise with the unique one-touch control game mechanic,” said Ashley Ringrose, Studio Head, SMG Studio. “As fans of the Fast & Furious films ourselves, we can’t wait to turn the wheel over to other fans so they can take the game out for a spin.”

Instead of just being a standard racing game, you’ll partake in a number of various challenges that include chopper pursuits, stunts, and more. Players will also be able to race against each other in an online mode.

Fast & Furious Takedown is an action-packed adventure that evokes what makes Fast & Furious such an unforgettable and enduring franchise,” said Chris Heatherly, Executive Vice President of Games and Digital Platforms, Universal Brand Development. “We wanted to deliver a quintessential Fast & Furious experience – one filled with the over-the-top stunts and thrills that fans love from the movies, while being fun, easy to master and appealing to a wide range of fans.”

There’s no release date for Fast and Furious Takedown quite yet but you can pre-register now by clicking here. If you pre-register, you’ll get various rewards depending on how many people sign up. At 250,000, players will get an exclusive decal and at 500,000, 750,000, and 1 million, more rewards will unlock.

Fast and Furious Takedown will release for free on the Apple Store and Google Play.
