Survival horror series Fatal Frame, in which you peruse haunted locales with but a supernatural camera for defense, will soon make the jump to Wii U, Koei Tecmo revealed during a NicoNico Live event earlier today.
Siliconera translates the full title to Fatal Frame: The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden, which has been confirmed for a September 27 Japan release. Fans of Fatal Frame have long suggested the series find a home on Wii U for its unique gamepad, allowing players to physically aim the aforementioned camera using motion controls. This is also known as the Pokemon Snap Defense.
Koei Tecmo has confirmed that the Wii U pad will play a major role in The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden, but it appears that role may be closer to secret hunting. Perhaps that’s for the best given the heightened risk of destroyed furniture and gamepads brought on by terrified gamers waving a tablet about.
What KT has not confirmed is a western release.
