In a time where developers are adding microtransactions to almost everything there is a studio that won't – at least for now, and that studio is Fatshark.
In a recent exclusive interview with GameZone the Sweden based studio told us that microtransactions aren't something they are considering to add to Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide at the moment.
"We have said that we aren’t going to start with it. Personally I don’t mind them, they can work, but to have them they need to work with the game," said CEO and co-founder, Martin Wahlund. "They can’t be intrusive, they can’t change it to pay-to-win, and there are many other factors to think about. I don’t mind them, as long as the game experience is the same and it feels good, sure you can have them, but we have no plans on adding them as of now."
Though Wahlund personally has no problems with microtransactions, he said that there are a bunch of factors to think about before implementing such transactions and the biggest two factors being: They can't be intrusive on the players or the game. They are not allowed to change to game to pay-to-win.
Besides those two factors there are many more to consider to make sure it won't ruin or break the game. Wahlund made it clear that adding them would be a big risk.
Players of Vermintide won't have to worry about microtransations coming to the game anytime soon.
Also, console players will soon be able to play Vermintide as well!
