Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still in theaters with Ben Affleck kicking ass as Batman, but another caped crusaders is waiting in the shadows, the LEGO Batman!
A spin-off of the wildly successful The LEGO Movie is being made and it's main character has the dark knight in focus. Little is known about the story in this new movie, but the LEGO Batman movie will be made in the same spirit as The LEGO Movie, or as Batman said "It's kind of like the original LEGO movie only vastly superior because it revolves entirely around me.".
The new trailer shows a sad Batman looking at a photo of his parents when Alfred walk up on him and tries to make him feel better, only it is all in a wacky LEGO format, what can go wrong?!
A few voices for the LEGO Batman movie has already been cast, Will Arnett from Arrested Development will voice Batman, Daredevil's Rosario Dawson will voice Batgirl, James Bond: Specter's Ralph Fiennes will voice Alfred, the forever awkward teen Michael Cera will voice the awkward Robin, the Hangover's Zach Galifianakis will voice the Joker, and Mariah Carey got all she wanted for christmas, she got to voice the Mayor.
As of now the release date is set some time in 2017, so until then we have to make due with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which works just fine for me.
