FIFA 11 Just Made a Lot of Money and Stuff

Electronic Arts has revealed FIFA 11’s record-breaking first-week sales, likely from upon a mountain made entirely of money and the tears of disgruntled spouses.

Since its launch on September 28 in North America and October 1 in Europe, sales of FIFA were up approximately 29 percent over last year’s release, having already expected to have grossed more than $150M at retail.

The first two days of the European launch were the busiest online in EA SPORTS history, according to the publisher. Fans registered nearly 12 million FIFA 11 game sessions.

Review scores have also been phenomenal for the title, with 58 reviews rating the game a 90 or better.

I will admit it’s nice to see an EA Sports title that isn’t Madden doing well. I don’t really have much else to add other than that since I’d rather kill zombies and rescue naked ladies than kick a ball into a net, but to each his own.
