There's a reason they call it the world sport. Just three days after the FIFA 13 demo launched, 1.99 million people in 73 countries around the world downloaded and played it.
And how has the demo participation translated into sales? Well, for one, fans have already pre-ordered over 875,000 copies of FIFA 13 — up 37% year over year in Europe and a 62% increase year over year in North America. For EA, it's just another indication that FIFA will continue to be one of their most successful sports franchises.
Although there is technically two more weeks until FIFA 13 launches, fans in Europe have the opportunity to get six days of early access beginning Sept. 22 through the EA SPORTS Season Ticket program. Season Ticket subscribers in North America can begin downloading FIFA 13 on Sept. 21.
FIFA 13 will be available in retail stores on September 25 in North America and September 28 worldwide.
