FIFA 14 will become the first game to leave EA Access this Fall

EA Access went live about three years ago, launching with only four games, but promised to continue adding to its catalog. EA has continued to do just that, but despite claims to the contrary, EA will be pulling one of the service's original launch titles, FIFA 14. In a post on the EA Access website, the company explained that they would be ceasing server support for the game, which is fairly typical for their sports titles after about four years.

The game will be taken down on October 18th, 2017 but will remain playable for fans who keep the game installed on their hard drive. However, if you uninstall the game after October 18th, you will be unable to get it back.

All in all, it makes a lot of sense for EA to clean house a little bit. The majority of the game's fan base has long since left the game, and keeping a dying community going doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

EA Access initially launched with FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Battlefield 4, and Peggle 2 back in August of 2014. And if FIFA 14's removal is any indication, Madden NFL 25 may not be far behind. Expect this trend to continue.
