Despite the hype surrounding the promise of the Batman and Superman showdown we've all been waiting to see play out on the big screen, there was still some hesitance surrounding Warner Bros. upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. With just about a month to go until its debut, Warner Bros. has unveiled the final trailer for the movie, and it's just what we needed to see.
The trailer is loaded with new footage, including an extended look at Ben Affleck's Batman in action. And damn does it look good. Director Zack Snyder appears to have channeled Batman: Arkham Knight when it comes to seeing the Caped Crusader take on a gang of thugs.
The trailer also hypes the long-awaited fight between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel, including showing us the moment Superman realizes Batman can match him strength for strength. Of course, we also get snippets of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor.
After some letdown following the release of the second trailer, this is exactly what we needed to see. Dark, gritty action.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016, and kicks off DC Films' slate of Justice League movies.
