Final Fantasy XV has been pretty quiet on the news front since launching Episode Duscae Version 2.0. After skipping E3 2015, Square Enix has decided to hold off until Gamescom to show off their long (loooong) awaited JRPG. Today, Square Enix announced via Twitter that they will be streaming their latest Active Time Report to Twitch on August 5th, which also happens to be the first day of Gamescom 2015.
In the past, the Active Time Report has served as a platform for the developers to talk about their process and acknowledge fan feedback from the launch of Episode Duscae, which had a few issues that were patched up by Version 2.0.
Final Fantasy XV is expected to have big presence at Gamescom next week, but it still remains to be seen what exactly that will entail. It has been over a year since the game officially changed its name from Versus XIII and over nine years since the project was first unveiled at E3 2006.
There is no doubt that fans will be on the edge of their seats waiting to hear the release date they have been dying to hear all these years, though at this point, it’s pretty unlikely that a 2015 release is going to happen. However, stranger things have happened.
Gamescom will run from August 5-9 in Cologne, Germany and GameZone will be covering every piece of news that comes out of the event.
