Final Fantasy 7’s Cloud to be detailed next week in final Super Smash Bros. dedicated Nintendo Direct

The beginning of November marked the first Nintendo Direct since the passing of Nintendo CEO and Nintendo Direct host Satoru Iwata. The Direct revealed a ton of games, including new classic Pokemon games headed to the 3DS, Legend of Zelda news, and plenty of other news – but one of the most exciting bits of news from the event focused on the newest addition to the Super Smash Bros. roster.

After years of rumors, Final Fantasy VII's Cloud was finally confirmed for Super Smash Bros. While Nintendo didn't give us a release date, they did show off Cloud's Final Smash move, the Omnislash, and his ability to call up a horde of tiny chocobos.

It looks like we will be getting more information on Cloud in Super Smash Bros on Tuesday, December 15th at  2 PM PST / 5 PM EST, during the "final video presentation dedicated to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U." Game director Masahiro Sakurai will be detailing Cloud during the Direct, which hopefully means that Sakurai will be giving us a release date for the fighter.

As for what else will be revealed during the event, we will have to wait and see.
