Final Fantasy characters mysteriously appear on Square Enix’s Arcade Project teaser site

As one of those old school Final Fantasy purists that clings to the ‘good ole days’ of the franchise, I love to see modern Final Fantasy characters transformed into sprites. With a recent update to Square Enix’s Arcade Project’s teaser site, this is exactly what happened. By just taking a quick gander at the site, you see Terra, Lightning, White Mage, Kain, Rosa, Cloud, and the massive Typhon.

Whatever is going on in here involves a new title of the franchise being announced soonish. The title is likely to be revealed at JAEPO or the Japan Amusement Expo. This year, the event will be held at the Makunhari Messe center in Chiba February 13-14; tomorrow and the following day.

On the site you can play around with all sorts of things. By clicking on the central tent a crystal will appear. If you click and hold a character you can drag it around the site. If you double click a character they will swap the direction they are looking. This reminds me of a sticker booklet trying to make some sort of recreation-custom art piece.

Following this format, we should have something revealed to us come this weekend.
