The last time I was hand selecting Final Fantasy characters across all the games and universes, it was rhythmically; or should I say Theatrhythm. Well, this very concept is back for a mobile game that is slated to come out in North America sometime this Spring. At this unannounced date, you’ll be able to download it via iOS and Android devices.
Final Fantasy: Record Keeper will focus on key moments from your favorite games and allow you to relive them in sprite-esque style. The cast is as downright ridiculous as it is impressive. We’re talking Terra, Cloud, Tidus, Lightning, Kain, and so many more. Anytime you can literally choose your favorite characters from the Final Fantasy universe and make your perfect party – I’m in.
Combat will be done in a traditional active time battle (ATB) system. You’ll be equipping characters with iconic gear, spells you know, summons you’re familiar with, and hundreds of weapons you're able to pick and choose from.
"FINAL FANTASY: Record Keeper delivers the ultimate FINAL FANTASY experience for the dedicated and passionate fans of this franchise and we are excited to work with SQUARE ENIX to bring it to players worldwide this spring," said Shintaro Asako, CEO of DeNA West.
"We have seen great success with FINAL FANTASY: Record Keeper in Japan, with over five million downloads since the game launched," said Ichiro Hazama, Producer atSQUARE ENIX. "From classic characters and iconic moments to the legendary battle system, the game is resonating with fans and mobile gamers alike."
Interested? Well, you can pre-register for the game now via the website. You’ll probably want to get on that while you can. Enjoy the trailer above!
