Final Fantasy series creator teases us with trailer for cancelled game Cry On

It seems like even games that are similar to The Last Guardian will never see the light of day. I'm not saying I've totally given up hope on seeing The Last Guardian release, but there has to be something about children and giants that simply isn't appealing to video game publishers.

The creator of the Final Fantasy series and founder of the video game development studio, Hironobu Sakaguchi, created a concept trailer (and concept art 1,2, and 3) for a game that won't be seeing the light of day anytime soon.

That game is called Cry On and you can find its trailer in the video above. The game was cancelled in 2008 for economical reasons, but only recently did its creator reveal the game's trailer.  Sakaguchi took to Twitter and to YouTube to reveal the lost art for this game. In the trailer for Cry On you see a girl and her little stone golem attempting to outrun a black mob of monsters that apparently suck the life out of everything they touch. The girl's golem transforms into a giant stone golem and saves her — it happens in an environment reminiscent of The Last Guardians trailer.

Perhaps if the company is doing better today than it was in 2008, we could see this game rise again?
