Final Fantasy VII Remake Opening Movie is Square Enix’ Valentines gift for you

Square Enix today shared the awesome new opening movie for the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake. The impressive CG movie sets the scene nicely for what is shaping up to become one of the generation’s highlight titles. FFVIIR is coming out on April 10th exclusively for the PlayStation 4. Check out the opening movie here!

Less than two months left until gamers finally get the fabled remake of one of the most influential games of all time in their hands. The road has been particularly long and difficult. Rumors about a Final Fantasy VII remake were swirling around for many years but the first time Square Enix officially presented the game to the world was five years ago. That’s pretty much at the start of current-gen. Fittingly, the remake is set to hit stores very close to the start of next-gen.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, here’s something you’ll really love: the opening movie to FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE!
The soaring introduction combines both new and familiar visuals, incredible graphics, amazing music… okay, you don’t need us describe it – just watch it for yourself

Naturally, chances are high that FFVII will either get a port or will even be natively supported on the PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility. Since the remake is so big in scope, the developer’s decision to release it piecemeal, so the likelihood of a native next-gen FFVII game is even higher.

Final Fantasy VII became synonymous with the PlayStation for being a revelation in the cinematic RPG genre as well as for ditching its long-time partnership with Nintendo. The remake, however, will only be exclusive to the PS4 for one year before hitting other platforms. A PC port is safe to assume and with FFXV on Xbox One, a port for Microsoft’s console is not unlikely either.
