Less than a month ago, Square Enix confirmed what many fans probably could have guessed, in that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age was coming to Steam. What wasn’t expected was just how soon it was going to happen. That day is today as The Zodiac Age is now available to PC players and comes with a nice 20% launch discount.
From now until February 8th, Steam users can grab the game at $40 instead of the retail price of $50, and for a classic game packed with as many hours of content as Final Fantasy XII, that’s a good deal. It’s also worth noting that if you pick up the game within that time, you are eligible for some exclusive perks such as three additional audio tracks and a wallpaper designed by Isamu Kamikokuryo, the game’s original artist.
Much like it’s PS4 cousin, the Steam version of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age comes with a revamped job system, a wholly redone orchestral track, and a set of achievements. PC users, however, have the option of playing the game at 60 FPS, flip between the original soundtrack and the new one from the very beginning of the game, and have 21:9 monitor support.
It’s also worth noting that early user reviews are 85% positive, so this is not a case of a shoddy PC port.
Looking ahead, fans of the series won’t have to wait long to get their hands on the latest entry in the series, Final Fantasy XV, as it will release on March 6th, 2018.
