Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will support PS4 to Vita remote play

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will support remote play on the PlayStation 4, game director Naoki Yoshida confirmed.

According to a translated interview with Famitsu (via Kotaku), you'll be able to stream the gameplay footage from the PS4 to the PlayStation Vita and play via the handheld. Although Yoshida believes the more exciting social aspects of the game, like raids and dungeons, are better experienced on the PC in front of a monitor, he feels some of the more solo features of the game are perfect for the Vita.

An example he gave was using remote play for fishing, something relaxing that you can do solo. Though he did say its possible to progress in the game without a party if you also want to take on the solo quests and level up by yourself.

"But like, when you're all, 'let's form a party and go to a dungeon!,' then you go sit in front of your monitor and enjoy playing that on a big screen. In that regard, you can choose your play style," he said. "Depending on whether you feel like playing at a certain time or on a certain day, you can select between relaxing play or giving it your all. I think expanding those options is itself something new."

Would you make use of the Vita's ability to play Final Fantasy XIV?
