Final Fantasy XV Director Talks VR and Potential PC Port

After translating the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, an interview with Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata was revealed. They discussed sales, fan response, cut content and virtual reality content. The most exciting news for some was the discussion of a potential PC port.

“I’d like to release the game on PC as a technical attempt. I want to show PC users Final Fantasy XV running on high-end machines, and we personally would like to see it, too. Also, I would like to try developing on PC to pursue a unique way of playing with PC-exclusive features like making your own quests and enjoying the world using things like mods.”

Mods! Glorious PC mods! This really only reveals Tabata's interest in a PC port, not officially announcing one, but it does show that he is batting for the PC team.  We can only imagine the types of mods that could be possible with such an open game like Final Fantasy XV.

He also talked about their plans for other content, like some parts of the tie-in movie not being explorable in-game. Tabata stated that "We might remake playable areas in future expansions, but since that would take a year, it is not currently in our plans."

Lastly, when asked about virtual reality content, he said that development is progressing, but they're not ready to announce any sort of release window.
