A brand new game play trailer was revealed by Square Enix today at TGS 2015 for Final Fantasy XV. In it we get a look at the newly evolved Chocobos as well as a brand new mini game to the franchise – fishing.
If you were still on the fence, against the more modern approach the game is taking and holding on to the Final Fantasy of old then you may just want to stop reading now. Square Enix has added a fishing mini game to the franchise that allows Noctis and pals to kick back, cast a rod and reel in tonight's dinner. Literally. If you are lucky enough to catch a fish, then simply hop back into your hot rod racer and drive back to your camp fire in order to cook it for dinner. Geeesh, Tidus is rolling over in his grave simply thinking about it.
The Chocobos have evolved as well with the new generation consoles. They jump, glide to higher areas and show a brand new area of the map we've yet to see in the latest trailer. You can also see a much higher level of detail to the feathers as they actually appear to be their own animal now rather than just Woodstock on steroids. Even with this more modern approach, the game play is extremely fluid from what we can see. There is, of course, still no release date as we need to wait until March to get it.
Final Fantasy XV will release on PS4 and Xbox One when it launches next year.
