Final Fantasy XV received great review scores from plenty of publications when it released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Game director Hajime Tabata has said many times that he wanted to port the game to PC. It turns out, this is finally happening in early 2018.
Not only is the game coming to PC, but Square Enix is actually teaming up with Nvidia to take advantage of Nvidia's GameWorks tech. This brings crisp visuals, enhanced physics enhancements, and a 4K resolution. Apparently, the delay was warranted with these upgrades.
The PC version will also support Dolby Atmos and HDR10 for those users with superior sound systems. Tabata spoke on the partnership in a press release, saying that, "With the help of Nvidia, we are creating a stunning visual experience in Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, one worthy of this beloved franchise."
Some of the GameWorks enhancements for the PC version include Hairworks, Flow and Turf Effects. It will also include realism-based physics. These enhancements make things like fire and fluid work more realistically. Hair and fur will flow, as well as grass and vegetation.
Final Fantasy XV WIndows Edition comes with the additional content that the console versions have received, which has only been available to season pass owners to this point.
Final Fantasy XV WIndows Edition will release in early 2018.
