Earlier this month, we saw a posting on the ESRB website for a Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition, but had no such announcement attached from Square Enix. Today they’ve finally announced the game of the same name, except now we actually know what it is.
Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is the definitive edition of Final Fantasy XV. It features the full game, all DLC (including Comrades), and new content made exclusively for this release. This exclusive content includes a new dungeon called the Insomnia City Ruins, a Royal Vessel boat for exploring the open sea, first-person mode, and more.
PC fans rejoice because Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition is also debuting on PC. It includes 4K, 8K, and all the other content described above. It even has mod support as well.
Considering Square Enix’s drive to make Final Fantasy XV look as good as it does on PS4 Pro, a first-person mode sounds like a great addition. Royal Edition is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on March 6 for $50. Those who already own the original Final Fantasy XV on consoles can pay $20 to upgrade to the Royal Edition content with DLC on the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store called Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack.
Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition releases on March 6, 2018.
