Final Fantasy: Mystiq Quest Battles its Way onto Virtual Console

Final Fantasy creator, Square Enix, who recently filed the name Mystiq Quest Legend in Europe, apparently has plans to revive the paint-by-numbers RPG for Nintendo’s Virtual Console. Known as the red-headed stepchild in the series since it was designed to broaden Squaresoft’s Western appeal at the time, the game was originally published by Nintendo in PAL regions with Square handling the US market.

The game was originally released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and was marketed as a “simplified role-playing game…designed for the entry-level player.” How entry? The fact that you can one-hit kill the final boss with a simple cure spell.
