SANTA MONICA, Calif.
– March 14, 2002 – The finals are set for Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and id
Software’s
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
(tm)
"Battle on the Beachhead" tournament.  This Thursday, March 14, teams "Doctors"
and "DarkSide" will battle it out in online multiplay as Axis versus Allies
forces in a final assault of epic proportions. Over 1000 players on 128 teams
have competed in the six-week tournament.

Fans can listen to a live play-by-play broadcast of the championship match via
shoutcast, courtesy of Team Sportscast Network.  Pre-match interviews and
commentary begin at 7:00 p.m. CST, while game action kicks-off at approximately
8:30 p.m. CST.  Simply log-on tohttp://www.tsncentral.com/
to listen-in on all of the action.   

Both teams will
square off against one another in an Axis versus Allies battle for the beach.
The scenario includes a set number of mission objectives that must be completed
as quickly as possible.  In a round, each team has an opportunity to play the
scenario as both the attacker and defender, and the team that completes the
offensive objectives in the shortest amount of time wins the round.  The first
team to win three rounds is declared the winner and tournament champion.

Prizes will be
awarded to each member of the winning team, including a NVIDIA® GeForce3(tm)
video card, a Nintendo GameCube(tm), a variety of Activision games and a
dedicated port on a

game server with administrative access for one year from the Speakeasy Network,
home of the largest broadband gaming community and the official ISP of the OGL.
Runners-up will receive a Game Boy® Advance handheld video game system and
copies of
DOOM
(tm)
and
Commander Keen
(tm).
