Take on the duties of a Professor

Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct really delivered on all fronts. It was a bombardment of awesome new game announcements, gameplay videos and release details. One of whom is the release date for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It’s coming out this July, 26th exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Check out the new trailer!

The Fire Emblem series has been going for almost thirty years and has become a mainstay on almost all Nintendo consoles ever since. With 16 games under its belt, Fire Emblem: Three Houses still manages to be a very special entry into the long-standing franchise. It marks the return of Fire Emblem to a Nintendo home console in well-over a decade.

As such, expectations for Three Houses is high. Obviously, fans are looking forward to being blown away from a technical and visual standpoint, for the series has long been shackled by the decidedly low fidelity of the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS. The Switch however has proven to be little powerhouse of a hybrid, able to deliver an unparalleled handheld experience and cutting-edge traditional TV console experience.

The awesome new trailer delves deeper into the story and setting of Fire Emblem: Three Houses and introduces players to the protagonist and the main characters, while also showing plenty of juicy new gameplay footage. And we are liking what’s on offer.

The world of Three Houses is called Fódlan and is home to three large powers. The Adrestian Empire, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and the Leicester Alliance. After a tumultuous past with war raging on between these three houses, peace reigns currently among them.

And in the midst of it all – literally – a monastery lies, connected to all three regions of Fódlan. Home to the Church of Seiros and its knights who maintain order in the world, it also houses the Officer’s Academy. It’s here where the player will choose between a female or male player character and embark on the task as a teacher in the Garreg Mach Monastery.

Cadets of all three regions are being educated here and form the titular Three Houses in the monastery. The future heirs of the three regions are also being taught and will become your allies on the battlefield.

The prefect setup for Fire Emblem’s iconic mix of tactical war game and social interaction. Check out the trailer for even more details!
