Firewatch making its way to Xbox One this month

Campo Santo's mystery indie game Firewatch is coming to Xbox One later this month after eight months of console exclusivity on PS4. Today at PAX West, the developers revealed that the indie will come to Xbox One with new modes and features like a "Firewatch Audio Tour" which is being described as "one part scavenger hunt, one part museum tour, one part game dev workshop, mixed with a dash of inside Campo Santo goofs."

The Xbox One release will also include a free roam mode which will allow players to freely explore the beautiful open wilderness. "In free roam, you'll be able to live in the Shoshone with a full day/night cycle and explore with a few hidden secrets," stated Campo Santo.

Firewatch released to high praise in reviews. Many people dug the unique setting and story telling method while also admiring the beautiful art style. However, some reviews stated the game didn't reach some of the emotional peaks they were expecting in such a story and character driven game.

Firewatch will release on September 23rd on Xbox One.
