Firewatch was one of 2016's most anticipated games when the new year arrived, now eight months after its release and almost 1 million copies sold to date, Developer Campo Santo still isn't done with the Firewatch brand. Today, the Firewatch developer and the independent motion picture production company, Good Universe announced a collaboration deal, where the pair will work to bring the walking sim to the big screen.
Campo Santo founder Sean Vanaman said:
“When we met Good Universe we were floored by how they recognize, cultivate and produce incredible stories. It's rare you meet another group that shares so many of your values and makes the process of creating things even more exciting. We can't wait to see what we make together."
Firewatch is a first person adventure game starring Rich Sommer (Mad Men) who portrays the protagonist, Henry and Cissy Jones (The Walking Dead) who plays the radio voice Delilah. As Henry travels around the game world uncovering clues, he continues a back and forth dialog with Delilah that simultaneously pushes the narrative forward and reveals more intimate details about the characters.
