First look at Ares in Wonder Woman revealed at New York Toy Fair

Yesterday we learned that Harry Potter actor David Thewlis would be playing the role of Ares in the upcoming Wonder Woman film. It was a small reveal and not much other information accompanied it as we still hadn't seen what the villain would look like in the film.

That changed, as we now know how Ares will be depicted thanks to friendly visitors at the New York Toy Fair. One patron of the event observed a bunch DC Universe toys and immediately snapped the image. As you can see from the posting below, Ares is fully armored with a shield and double horned head. He's also quite gigantic, which you would imagine he would be. With Ares being a mix of CGI and effects, hopefully, his 'final form' gets ironed out soon.

Even though it's just a toy, the on-screen depiction is always different. The way characters move, talk and behave go a long way in creating their on-screen presence. Wonder Woman releases in theaters on June 2nd, but hopefully DC keeps Ares under wraps and doesn't reveal him in a trailer. Don't get me wrong, I want to see him but I'd rather wait to keep the movie more exciting.
