With Destiny's next expansion, House of Wolves, Bungie won't be adding an end-game raid. In its place will be a new co-op Arena activity set in the Prison of Elders.
Bungie will formally unveil the new content during a livestream tomorrow afternoone, but they did give us a brief preview of what it'll consist of — and it sounds like your typica wave-based attack/defend mode "…where teams of three players can take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies." Bungie promises "high-level" legendary and exotic rewards.
Prison of Elders will allow matchmaking with othe players — unlike House of Wolve's new Crucible content, Trials of Osiris — or you can enter with your own Fireteam and take on higher difficulty challengers that offer greater rewards.
Again, this is just a teaser for tomorrow's livestream where I'm sure we'll learn much more about Prison of Elders.
For those interested, the livestream will begin on at 11:00am Pacific on Wednesday, May 6th, 2015. Bungie Community Manager Deej will host alongside Bungie Lead Designer Matt Sammons and community member ProfressorBroman.
Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves will be available on Tuesday, May 19th.
