After months of teaser clips, behind-the-scenes footage, and images, Netflix has finally given us our first proper look at Fuller House. Well, technically it was cast members Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), and Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner-Fuller) who debuted the snippet of the first full trailer during The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Technicality aside, the first look at Fuller House didn't disappoint.
Though just a snippet from Netflix's soon-to-be-released full trailer, the clip features all the cheesy goodness of the original series I grew up watching. Of course, the cast is a bit older and the series now shifts towards the Tanner daughters. Here's the show's description, which paints a pretty hectic picture.
"In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron-Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson, neurotic 7-year-old Max and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr. "
Check out the full clip below from The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The specific Fuller Houser trailer snippet starts at around the 2:30 mark, although the actresses do talk about former cast members Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and the possible return of Michelle in the inevitable second season.
If you listen closely around the 3:00 mark, you can hear Carly Rae Jepsen's version of Full House's iconic theme song, "Everywhere You Look."
After watching the clip, I can safely say I'm pumped for Fuller House. Sure, it looks cheesy, and I'm sure we'll have the predictable lesson-learning plots, but if you remember, that's what Full House was all about. The spirit of the original series is clearly still alive in Fuller House, and I love that.
Fuller House premieres February 26th on Netflix. The streaming service will debut the full trailer on Tuesday, February 16th.
