First look at Nier: Automata’s gameplay reveals high octane battles

Square Enix took to E3 2015 with quite a few exciting announcements – one of which was a new NieR game that was being developed by PlatinumGames, the studio that gave us Bayonetta. At the time, Square Enix promised more details in the Fall and guess what? They are keeping that promise.

In the video above you'll get your first look at the action packed gameplay in NieR: Automata. Just looking at the fluid battles gives you the 'PlatinumGames-made-this' feeling.

Nier: Automata will have players take control of the YoRHa No. 2, Model B, “2B”, an all-purpose battle android. Using YoRHa No. 2, players will fend off invaders from another world. Luckily, YoRHa is equipped with close combat weapons and a "Pod" support system that help with ranged attacks.

NieR: Automata is in development for exclusively for PlayStation 4 and has no release date as of yet.
