First official trailer for Netflix’s Luke Cage released

Netflix has released the first official trailer for their series based on Marvel's Luke Cage, which will release on September 30th for its first full season.

After a brief teaser trailer from San Diego Comic Con, we get an up close look at the antagonist that Luke Cage will be going up against, as well as his friend played by Rosario Dawson. Surprisingly, she's not referenced as a hospital nurse, which is a bit odd considering the crossover and her role in Daredevil. The season will be comprised of 13 episodes, and focus on Cage's beginning as an ex-con and how he was "given" his powers.

Everything from super strength to bulletproof, unbreakable skin and Luke Cage is a force to be reckoned with. Those familiar with him from the comics will know that he is basically the human version of the Hulk at about 6'6'' and 425 pounds with a very bad temper. Luke Cage takes place in Harlem as he attempts to rid the city of a criminal terrorizing the innocent residents.

The series will tie into both Jessica Jones and Daredevil as well as the upcoming Iron Fist as they get ready to begin shooting for The Defenders which will debut in 2017. Daredevil Season 3 will also release in 2017. What are you looking forward to about Luke Cage? Let us know below.
