Production on the Assassin's Creed movie has begun, and we've got our first image from the set. Well, it's more of a teaser than anything, but we'll take it.
Azaïzia Aymar, head of content for the franchise at Ubisoft, tweeted a photo from the set yesterday — a wall with the distinctive Abstergo Industries logo. While there's not much else, Aymar did call walking the set "an amazing experience."
He also tweeted a photo of himself with director Justin Kurzel revealing more of what looks like Abstergo.
New Regency and 20th Century Fox's Assassin's Creed movie is a live-action film is an adaptation of Ubisoft's popular video game series of the same name; however, it won't be a retelling of one of the stories from the games. Acclaimed actor Michael Fassbender will be playing Callum Lynch, a character created specifically for the film which plays off the same concept of the game series. Also starring in the film is Marion Cotillard, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, and Brandon Gleeson.
Assassin's Creed is due for release in theaters on December 21, 2016. Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the next installment in Ubisoft's game franchise, arrives on October 23, 2015.
