Since Microsoft revealed Project Scorpio during E3 2016 details on the upcoming console have been a bit scarce. We know the general specs for the console, it will feature eight cores, six teraflops, 320GB/s memory bandwidth, 4K/VR gaming, and backward compatibility.
With the announcement of the PS4 Pro raising new questions on Project Scorpio, Microsoft has revealed a few more specifics on the console. According to Microsoft's Phil Spencer, publishers will choose whether previously released Xbox One games will get upgraded for the console – though it should be noted that Scorpio will not force games to hit 4K resolution.
A new announcement, from Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager Shannon Loftis has confirmed that Microsoft published games will run at native 4K on Project Scorpio. “Any games we’re making that we’re launching in the Scorpio time frame, we’re making sure they can natively render at 4K,” Loftis said to USA Today (via VG247).
