First promo art for the ‘Samurai Jack’ revival has surfaced

A recent picture has surfaced on Instagram that depicts Samurai Jack as he will appear in the upcoming revival of the series.

It was reported last December that Cartoon Network planned to bring back on of its classic, critically-acclaimed animated series', Samurai Jack. The news came along with a new teaser trailer for the revival, but no real concrete details. Recently, a picture has appeared that depicts the titular character in the new series:

The fifth (and apparently, final) season of the show is set to take place 50 years after the original series ended. Jack is now an old, weathered warrior, which would explain the tone of the series, expected to be much darker and far more violent than it predecessor.

Adult Swim is excited to announce that JACK IS BACK. Creator and executive producer Genndy Tartakovsky continues the epic story of Samurai Jack with a new season that will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2016.
Series showrunner, Genndy Tartakovsky, is slated to return along with original voice actor, Phil Lamarr, as the time-traveling samurai warrior.
Samurai Jack: Season 5 premieres this summer!
