After rumors of the Warcraft film getting a trailer this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), director Duncan Jones has revealed that the film is nearly complete. Speaking with iO9, Jones revealed that the Warcraft film is essentially 10 VFX shots short from being complete.
"The status of the movie is, we have pretty much a finished movie," said Jones from the Legendary booth at SDCC. "I have under 10 VFX shots which are being finished off right now, they need to be dropped into the movie, but we're kinda done."
The Warcraft film isn't due to release until June 2016 giving the crew more than enough time to finish up the VFX shots and add extra polish to the film. Jones went on to say that he 'knows' the film is good and his trusted acquaintances confirmed his feelings on the film.
Depending on how Warcraft preforms in the box office at theaters we might see two more films for the video game franchise. "If it goes well i am pretty convinced that Chris Metzen (Blizzard's senior vice president of story and franchise development) and I have a very good idea of what story we could tell in three films."
Director Duncan Jones is best known for the award-winning sci-fi films Moon and Source Code, it will be interesting to see what he does with Warcraft.
